Anna Eshelman
Thanks for visiting! I work with the NOAA Climate Program Office communication, education, and engagement team (contractor) as a graphic designer supporting Climate.gov, the U.S. Climate Resilience Toolkit, and other CPO initiatives. I visualize climate science information so that it is digestible, pleasing to the eye, and effective in communicating its message.
I’m inspired to create work that cultivates curiosity and sparks engagement. Design is a balancing act of beauty and function, complexity and simplicity, personality and invisibility. With solid research, excellent typography, and a thoughtful method, I believe design can drive positive change.
Special interests: Cartography, illustration, data visualization, science education & communication, book and publication design, natural science, infographics, ecology, environmental conservation, permaculture & regenerative agriculture, native plants & wild foods, fine typography, weather & climate.

footprints
In the studio and in life, I strive for environmentally-friendly and socially-sound processes and outputs. I continue to learn new ways to lighten my various footprints, and look forward to sharing more writing on this soon. In the meantime, if you’re curious, check out this Ecological Footprint Calculator (from the Global Footprint Network) if you haven’t already.
